Around one in ten people suffers from chronic itchiness.

For as many as have suffered from this skin reaction, the first step is to resort to the use of epidermal creams such as Nixoderm, Fun bact A, Epiderm creme etc.

However, the best defense against this torture depends on its cause. They are:

A Neurological Issue

When nerves become damaged or compressed through injury or aging, they can respond by sending the brain an incessant “scratch me!” message, says Arianne S. Kourosh, MD, assistant professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School. This can affect any body part, but most commonly occurs on the arms, middle of the back, or scalp.

Inflammation

During bouts of internal inflammation brought on by allergies, autoimmune glitches, or a reaction to medication (like statins, opiates, or even herbal supplements), the body releases defensive molecules that set off varied responses—including itchiness.

Cortisone creams or oral antihistamines can extinguish the flame of the itch; drugstore moisturizers and protectant skin creams can prevent it from reigniting. If your medications are to blame, a new prescription may be all you need.

Anxiety

Intense stress can influence nerve function, which can lead to pain or a relentless itch.

Treatment for this type of itch addresses both the mind and the body and can include biofeedback, meditation, or acupuncture, as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy and medication.

Disease

A range of unrelated conditions that affect the kidney, liver, thyroid, and blood all may trigger obsessive scratching. So can autoimmune disorders, diabetes, and skin cancer.

If you have one of these issues as well as an itch, see a dermatologist, who may prescribe ointments or oral treatments.

Insect Bites

When a mosquito gets you, your immune system releases chemicals, including histamine, that prompt redness, swelling, and itching.

If the bite stays puffy and inflamed for a prolonged period, you’re likely having a heightened allergic skin reaction. A cortisone cream or an over- the-counter antihistamine should help.

Constant scratching may delay healing, so try holding an ice cube or pack on your bite. Cold temperatures make it harder for the itch-triggering nerve to communicate with your brain (heat has the opposite effect)—plus, your scratch-happy fingers will stay safely occupied.

Hey Ladies! You know how we love to rock our hair edges especially when you so desire to flaunt your very beautiful hair… Now, Imagine that long black hair with damaged, thinning, balding edges, that is absolutely the worst!

This section of your hair can’t be missed and there is little you can do to hide it. So it’s best that you catch things in time before it gets out of hand. If you have noticed that your edges are starting to thin out here are some tips for getting things back on track:

Avoid Really Tight Braids That Pull Your Edges

When worn too frequently braids are known to thin out edges and in the worst case scenario they can cause traction alopecia.

Braids do have the advantage of protecting your hair from over manipulation, but when it comes to your edges sometimes the tension is just too much.

If you have just taken out a set of braid extension, give your hair plenty of breathing time. Also make sure you ask your stylist to go easy on your edges so that they are not pulled too tightly. If your edges are looking really bad you may want to lay off period.

Tight Ponytails Can Cause Edges to Thin As Well

Sometimes when we wear our ponytails we like them to be sleek and a tighter ponytail definitely achieves this. However wearing a slicked back and tight ponytail too frequently can damage your edges. Damage can be mitigated by switching up your style and not consistently pulling your hair back in this position.

Avoid Picking, Twirling, or Manipulating This Area

If you have a habit of twirling or manipulating this area, stop it! The thinning of your edges is a sign that your hair is being over manipulated and too much tension is being applied. Constantly touching this area will cause even more damage. Instead try massaging or gently rubbing oils in that area to stimulate hair growth.

Smooth Product on Rather Than Using a Brush

It is okay to use a brush every once in a while for smoothing but avoid making it a daily habit. Brushes can rip and tear at the hair and if you use it too often overtime you will notice your hair will become thinner. Instead choose products that you can smooth on with your hands and will lay your edges down nicely.

Let your hair breathe more by implementing more low manipulation styles

Give your hair a new style and some healthy variation by doing more low manipulation styles like braid outs, twist outs, and bantu knot outs.

Castor oil can help re-grow thinning edges.

Have you ever had this issue? If so, Please share in the comment section on how your edges grew back?

As a happy young lady enjoying carrying my natural hair, It has become of note that a big concern among naturalistas, especially those with tighter textures, is brittle or hard hair. One huge question that we Naturals have struggled with is “How does one attain softer hair?”

Below are six tips I have highlighted that may be of help!

Always Take A Lot Of Water

One primary way to achieve softer natural hair is to make sure that you stay properly hydrated. Never should you be dehydrated, always ensure you drink lots of water. This is not only good for your body but it enhances the growth and texture of your hair.

This is where it all begins. Our hair follicles/scalp feed off what we take in our bodies which is why it is so important to drink plenty of water in addition to eating healthy if you’re trying to attain healthy hair. Sufficient water intake is the first step towards a soft and well textured hair.

Steaming is another way to give your hair just the right amount of hydration it needs. The heat opens up the hair cuticle allowing the water to penetrate the hair.

In my experience, my hair is immediately softer after this process!

Ensure You Use Moisturizing Cleansers

When cleansing your Natural hair, refrain from using products containing sulfates which can strip the hair of moisture, leaving it feeling hard and brittle. Use a moisturizing shampoo or cleanser (like a shampoo bar or clay wash) and follow up with lukewarm or cool water to rinse. These types of cleansers are usually pH balanced and contain ingredients that will moisturize and soften the hair. Rinsing with cool water helps to seal the hair cuticle, making it smoother.

Make Sure You Rinse Your Hair Thoroughly

In keeping with the idea of pH balance, a rinse of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) or even Coconut Milk can help bring your strands back to the proper levels and get rid of that rough feeling, leaving you with smoother, softer hair.

Oil Rinse is another rinse that softens hair.

Never Leave Out Deep Conditioning

After cleansing with your moisturizing shampoo, following up with a moisturizing deep conditioner will further moisturize the natural hair and put back what the hair may have lost. Like your moisturizing cleanser, this will usually contain other elements that promote and maintain moisture. Using heat along with your deep conditioner will help open your hair cuticle so that your conditioner can penetrate deep down into the strands.

Use A Leave-In Conditioner For Your Natural Hair

Once you have cleansed and conditioned, continue the process by adding a water-based leave-in conditioner. These no-rinse products will set your hair up for success when used on slightly damp hair right after washing. Seal in that moisture with a natural emollient like an oil (grape-seed, almond, jojoba, etc.) or a butter (like shea or mango). Remember, oils and butters do not moisturize and soften hair on their own. The key is moisture (liquid/water) first, then emollients to retain it.

In between washes, if necessary, use a spray bottle to lightly spritz your strands with water and follow the same procedure of layering your moisturizing product and sealing.

Low-Maintenance/ Protective Styles to Retain Moisture

Protective styles are stressed so much because they do a fantastic job at helping the natural hair retain moisture. These styles will typically tuck in your ends, the oldest part of the hair, keeping them protected. Secure your natural hair in a low-maintenance style and you should see a difference in how much moisture you have retained, resulting in softer hair.

Dear Readers, Have you suffered from dry Natural hair at one time or another? What steps did you take to overcome it?

In grooming your Natural Hair, Breakage or what most people call shedding is almost inexcusable. I have had my share of breakage and I can tell you that breakage happens.

We’ve all dealt with at one time or another.

Since it’s nearly impossible to completely eliminate breakage, there are some preventative measures that one can take.

Stop The Hair Breaking Behaviour

There are 3 common types of breakage: mechanical/manual (breakage from combing or manipulating hair), physical (breakage caused by heat appliances or physical elements such as dry air), and chemical (breakage caused by chemical treatments or using harsh chemicals as hair treatments).

What’s important to remember is anything in excess can potentially damage and break hair. But if you notice more breakage or any hair loss, assess your routine and eliminate the hair breaking behaviour.

Learn the Best Ways to Handle Your Hair

The longer your hair grows, the more gradual hair care changes is required. That means preventing breakage by sometimes pre-pooing (pre-shampoo treatment) with coconut oil, using olive & coconut oil for an oil rinse, and shampooing my hair in twists or plaits. Experiment with extra measures to minimize breakage in your hair.

Deep Condition Regularly

It is essential to deep condition your hair almost weekly so as to add an extra boost of moisture and breakage prevention. Ensure you deep condition your hair always and be sure you will notice less breakage and shedding.

Detangle Damp Hair Not Wet Hair

Hair is at its most fragile when wet. If you have highly textured hair that tangles easily, it is best to lightly mist your hair and detangle with a wide tooth comb before shampooing. Shampooing in plaits or jumbo twists also prevents tangles and breakage.

Trim Those Dead Ends

I know it may seem counterproductive when you’re trying to grow your hair. But removing split ends is the only way to prevent further damage on other parts of the same hair strand where split ends are present. Trimming the tip/dead ends will help keep your hair in optimal shape and decrease breakage.

Moisturize Your Hair As Needed

Your Hair needs the perfect balance of moisture and protein to remain healthy or breakage free. Hydrated hair is not easily broken. If you notice popping of hair strands, that’s a good sign that moisture is needed.

Don’t Over Do It With Moisturizing

There is a such thing as over moisturizing. Your hair will feel spongy when you deep condition overnight, baggy or practice the greenhouse effect too often. This will cause breakage and shedding. However, You can remedy this by incorporating a protein-based deep conditioning treatment.

Pay Due Respect To Your Scalp

A healthy scalp is essential to growing healthy hair. Cleansing your scalp at least bi-weekly and keeping scalp moisturize can prevent hair loss and scalp irritation.

Give Your Ends Extra TLC

Your ends are both the oldest part of your hair and the most fragile. They need a little extra attention. Make sure you have your ends covered by applying product from ends to roots.

Belly fat is more than just a superficial concern. It is also a significant risk factor for serious health problems such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Everyone has some belly fat, but large quantities of this subcutaneous fat can signal a weight problem. We all at some point have tried to get rid of that belly fat acquired over time. Some have tried pills, surgeries, miracle cures, and herbal remedies. Still they yielded no positive result.

It is, however, possible to get rid of belly fat naturally with a healthy combination of diet and exercise.

Fast facts on belly fat:

Belly fat tends to increase with age, particularly for women.

Having a high Body Mass Index (BMI) often correlates with more belly fat.

Visceral belly fat is highly responsive to diet.

Exercise is a key factor in eliminating belly fat.

Visceral Fat

Visceral fat is sometimes called “active” fat because of its active role in producing various hormones, which can be harmful to the body.

It is less visible than subcutaneous fat because it lies within the abdominal wall. It surrounds organs, and releases hormones that can lead to diabetes, chronic inflammation, and other serious health problems.

Visceral fat is not visible, but a slowly expanding waistline is a good indication of visceral fat. As visceral fat grows, so does the belly.

Some people find that visceral fat makes the stomach feel hard, while subcutaneous fat tends to feel soft and squishy.

The Dangers of Belly Fat

For people who have active lifestyles and healthy body weights, subcutaneous fat, even if the belly protrudes a little is not dangerous.

Research has shown that surgery to remove subcutaneous fat will not improve health, and may even be a risk factor for more visceral fat, particularly if surgery is not accompanied by healthful lifestyle changes.

Visceral fat which can otherwise be known as Belly fat is very dangerous. It releases hormones that can cause diabetes and inflammation. Inflammation is a risk factor for a variety of health problems, including cardiovascular disease and diabetes. In women, visceral fat may increase the likelihood of needing gallbladder surgery. Visceral fat is also linked to breast cancer.

Anyone can develop belly fat at any age, but people who are overweight or obese and those who drink lots of sugary drinks are at a greater risk of developing visceral fat. Those groups include:

Dietary Tips on how to Reduce Belly Fat

Eating fewer calories than the body burns, can help burn both visceral fat and excess subcutaneous fat. Some other strategies to reduce visceral fat include:

Eliminating Sugary Drinks

Some studies have linked sugary beverages, such as soda and sweetened tea and coffee, to the development of visceral fat. Try to reduce the sugar in your coffee and cut out soda altogether.

Reducing Carbohydrate Intake

Simple carbohydrates such as Bread, Rice, Alcohol, Garri etc. are low in nutritional value, but high in calories. They are also linked to the development of abdominal fat. Replace simple carbohydrates with complex carbohydrates, such as whole grain pasta and fruits and vegetables.

Eating more Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are a healthy alternative to simple carbohydrates. They also add fiber to the diet, which can help regulate blood sugar. Abdominal fat is a risk factor for insulin resistance and diabetes.

Controlling Fat Intake

A high-fat diet can lead to more abdominal fat. Don’t try to eliminate all fat, and don’t choose packaged fat-free foods. Instead, choose healthy fats from lean meats, avocados, and other “real” foods.

Exercises

Research has found that exercise plays a significant role in eliminating belly fat. Targeted exercises, such as crunches and sit-ups, will help reduce the belly fat.

The following tips can help reduce belly fat naturally:

Become More Active

Increasing activity levels can help burn more calories. People who sit at desks for long periods of time should take regular stretching breaks. Parking away from a destination can encourage more walking, burn more calories, and improve heart health.

Embrace cardiovascular exercise

Cardiovascular exercise gets the heart pumping. It also burns calories, helping to reduce belly fat, especially visceral fat. Start slowly, with walking or swimming. Then work up to more intense cardio, such as running or jumping rope.

Strengthen Muscles

Strength training can improve body weight, because muscles burn more calories than fat does. Strength training can also help prevent osteoporosis and other chronic illnesses. Commit to strength training exercises, such as lifting weights or yoga, at least 3 times per week.

Belly fat is a serious health problem, but a reversible one. No matter how much weight a person has gained or how poor their diet is, simply shedding a few pounds of belly fat can significantly reduce their risk of serious health problems.

Before you start any workout and nutrition plan, it is a good idea to figure out your body type. Knowing which of the three basic body types you belong to will help you better tailor your diet and exercise plan to meet your needs, and set realistic, attainable goals that will help you fit and maintain the required stature/physique.

The Basic body types are

Ectomorph

Mesomorph

Endomorph

Now, we would discuss each body type and which daily routine suits best.

Ectomorph

Ectomorphs tend to have a lean build, long limbs, and small muscle bellies. Even if they manage to put on weight, they may still look skinnier than they are, particularly in the calves and forearms.

People with this body type can eat piles of food and stay looking the same.

Best Daily Routine For Ectomorph

Ideally, Ectomorphs naturally gravitate toward endurance activities like running, but for a well-rounded routine, your workout sessions should include:

Jumping lunges

Squat jumps

Box jumps

Weight-based exercises

Since you have a fast metabolism, your body can handle a greater amount of carbs, you may want to focus on wholesome, fiber-rich carbs, which give you lasting energy. Try a sweet potato (rich in complex carbohydrates) topped with a bit of almond butter for satiating fat, a boiled egg (for some protein) and fruit.

Mesomorph

The mesomorph has a middle-of-the-road build that takes the best of both worlds. It is said to be a combination of an endomorph and mesomorph. For instance, you put on muscle quickly but have a hard time trimming the fat on top. They tend to have wide shoulders, a narrow waist, relatively thin joints, and round muscle bellies. Mesomorphs can be described as the woman with the muscular athletic body type.

If you’re a mesomorph, you have a natural tendency to be fit and relatively muscular. This does not mean you go on an eating spree- where you eat everything and do nothing expecting to get away with it forever. You are able to shed the weight gained and bounce back from being out of shape more easily than the other two body types, gaining muscle and burning fat with comparative ease.

Best Daily Routine For Mesomorph

Before you exercise in the morning:

Pre exercise snack: Eat a snack with protein and carbs. This will optimize muscle building and give you fuel to tackle your workout. Example is a container of Greek yoghurt.

Exercises: Since you’re naturally athletic, you may already be doing strength workouts, which includes: 20 body Weight Squats, 10 Push Ups, 20 Walking Lunges, 10 Dumbbell Rows, 15 seconds Plank, 30 Jumping Jacks, and 3 x 10 Squats.

If you’re not feeling hungry afterward, grab a protein recovery drink to deliver the hydration and nutrition your muscles need.

Endomorph

Women with this body type put on body fat easily, which can be tough to lose. Their build is a little wider than an ectomorph or mesomorph, with a thick ribcage, wide hips, and shorter limbs.

For the Endomorphs, the upper and lower body can fall into different body types, so you may notice you either store fat in the upper region of your body or in your rear or thighs.

Best Daily Routine For Endomorph

Hard workouts will cause your body to release a lot of cortisol during recovery, stimulating your body to put on fat. What works best for this body type is a Calm and restorative workout session. Lowering the levels of cortisol: the stress hormone that prompts the body to store fat, is key. The workout session should basically be about:

Mindfulness meditation- Here you sit quietly and focus on your breath, this been shown to help reduce morning cortisol levels, therefore reducing stress

Pre exercise snack- You should eat a pre-exercise snack instead of going to the gym without anything in your stomach. A light bite that includes both carbs and protein, like a little vanilla protein powder stirred into coffee with a small banana will power you through without overloading on calories.

Breakfast- Come breakfast time, choose metabolism-boosting meals. That means higher fat (avocado, nuts) and protein (eggs, Greek yoghurt, cottage cheese) and fewer carbs (oats, whole grains), which will work well for fat-burning and keep you satiated until lunch.

Exercise- Your workout session should include moderate weights and exercises that will see you maintaining a relatively fast training pace.

Getting your heart pumping daily with some form of activity is a good idea for both health and calorie burn.

Remember to make time to invest in your mental well-being as well. Research has shown that emotional stress can impede short-term muscle recovery after exercise. This means you should do things that maximize your mental health too. For instance, Try to spend some time connecting with loved ones, according to the American Psychological Association, close relationships with loved ones help you stay calm and happy.

These are the hottest musical artists of 2017.

12. Niniola

Since 2015, Niniola has always had one record to ensure her ascent up the industry’s food chain. This year, she finally had that record that signified her readiness to explode beyond Nigeria.

‘Maradona’, a single produced by Sarz, carried her name from Lagos to other parts of the world.
It also gave her the confidence to release her debut studio album “This is Me’. Niniola has found a formula to create and market House music for effect.

She’s proving, just like a number of artists including Adekunle Gold and Simi, that success can come from the road less travelled. With each stride she makes, she is unwittingly championing the cause of thousands of creatives who are questioning their uniqueness in this market.

11. Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage came into the New Year riding on her deal with JAY-Z’s ROC Nation. The Mavin Records singer continued her fine form with the release of her EP “Sugarcane.” The EP, which was a result of her happiness in 2017, contained the hit records ‘All Over’, and ‘Ma lo’ featuring Wizkid.

For performances, Tiwa Savage played a set at the Made In America concert, and also sprinted home with the trophy for Best Female in West Africa at the 2017 AFRIMA.

10. Simi

Simi’s sophomore album “Simisola” might be a music project for many people, but for others, it’s a way of life. The album which marks time as her first body of work since she blew under X3M Music is a beautiful body of work which artistically dissects love and happiness. Simi takes a universal subject and commoditizes it for pleasure. From that album, she scored the hit song ‘Joromi’, and headlined her concert, “See Me Live.”

9. Olamide

With Baddo, every year is a good year. While the rapper started 2017 slow, he steadily picked up steam as the months flew by. His first dent was done by the record ‘Wavy level’. And although the single failed to dominate pop culture, it showcased Olamide’s desire to try out new things.

But where he scored victory was by returning back to the basics – The Street. Teaming up with Young Jonn again, Olamide released the record ‘Wo’, which instantly became a hit record. The song and its success informed Olamide’s decision to release his 7th studio album, “Lagos Nawa,” which explored the ‘Wobe’ sound.

Add that to the successful hosting of the fourth edition of his annual concert, Olamide Live In Lagos: The Concert (#OLIC4).

8. Mr Eazi

Mr Eazi continued a good run with strategy gains in 2017. Early in the year, the singer kicked things off with his EP, “Life is Eazi Vol. 1: Accra to Lagos.” From that EP, he pulled out the singles ‘Short Skirt’, ‘Tilapia’, Fight, In the morning, and ‘Leg over’.

‘Leg over’, is one of Nigeria’s biggest records in 2017. Eazi toured with the project, performing shows in numerous cities around the world. In July, he held a Lagos stop at the shrine, where he performed for over two hours. Eazi also scored a performance at The Late Late Show with James Corden, and made a remix of ‘Leg over’ with Major Lazer, French Montana and Ty Dolla Sign.

7. Falz

Falz carried 2017 with his music. The rapper led from the mic, dishing hit records with reliable consistency. His 2017 bests include ‘Jeje’, ‘Something light’, and ‘La fete’. All of these he did by fusing rap to different sound structures, and emerging with pure fire.

All of his good work didn’t end in loose singles. Falz topped it up with a surprise album, “27.” This was his third studio album, which has been a critical success.

6. Ycee

Yceee went strong into 2017 with the release of his EP “The First Wave.” The singer whose growth has been steady since 2016, continued in fine form by scoring one of the biggest records of 2017, ‘Juice’. He’s also made waves with ‘Don’t need bae’, another record off it.
‘Juice’, produced by Adey, hosted Maleek Berry as a guest, and it topped charts across the country. It is one of Nigeria’s biggest records of 2017. The rapper also took home the AFRIMA award for Best Hip-hop Act in Africa.

5. Tekno

It’s impressive to know that Tekno’s consistency since 2015 has become normalized. This year was pretty much normal service from the ‘Slim Daddy’. Tekno opened the year with the rise of ‘Rara’, and ended up with a basket of hits and speculative winning records. Songs such as ‘Yawa’, ‘Samantha’, and ‘Go’ were dance favorites, leading the singer to a great year.
He’s also heavily in the success of Davido, where his production and songwriting skills were instrumental to the creating the song of the year – ‘If’.

And to cap off his year, he’s collaborating with Canadian rapper, Drake.

4. Banky W

Net worth N2.3 billion Taking the number 8 spot of Forbes list of the Top 10 richest musicians in Nigeria for the year 2017 is Banky W. He is currently the CEO of the popular Nigerian Music Record Label EME. In addition, he is the brand ambassador of Etisalat and Samsung Mobile for the West African region and also has a multi-million naira deal with Ciroc.

3. Tu Baba

Net worth N4.5 billion. This is the living legend of the Nigerian music industry. He makes his money from shows and endorsement deals with top brands of the country. By far he is one of the most marketable musicians in Nigeria at the moment. The number four spot on this prime ten richest list of Nigerian musicians 2017 is well merited for 2Face Idibia.

2. Wizkid

In 2017, Wizkid unlocked a new level of powers and achievements. While 2016 had the singer break glass ceilings with his collaborations with Drake and the deal with RCA Records, Starboy began to show the workings of everything in 2017.

Wizkid has released his first album since signing to RCA records earlier this year, with Sounds from the Other Side now being available to stream. For the album, star teamed up with some big names, with the previously released Drake-featuring single “Come Closer” being included on the album, as well as collaborations with Major Lazer, Ty Dolla $ign and Trey Songz.

Awards flowed in for him, as the singer scored high on the continent, picking up trophies at the MOBOs, AFRIMA and others. He also got to give a historic performance at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall, London.

1. Davido

Two singles turned things around for Davido in 2017, and he has had a great run. OBO has released five singles in 2017, but ‘If’ and ‘Fall’ continue to be the best songs that Nigeria has had. Best not in terms of quality, but the commercial acceptance, and the cultural relevance that it has attained. As the year winds down, he’s ending on a high with two records ‘FIA’ and ‘Like dat’.

Where 2016 brought uncertainty for the star, 2017 has been nothing but blessings for Davido. In fact, he has had the best run of the lot in Nigeria.
In fashion, ‘If’ inspired a collection. Partnering with designer Adebayo Oke-Lawal, The ‘Orange Culture X Davido ‘IF’ capsule collection launched at Selfridges ‘Music Matters’ campaign on September 12, 2017.

As awards come and go Davido was successful at the MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA) where he picked up the trophies for Best African Act, and Best Worldwide Act. At the MOBO 2017, he’s carried home the best African Artist. At the NEA Awards, high-flying Davido took home two awards for Hottest Single of the Year (“IF“) and Afropop Male Act of the Year. His protege, Mayorkun also took home an award for Best New Act.

Bras come in different shapes, types and brands. They are built according to the purpose intended. Majority of the ladies today just wear these bras giving less regard to its fit.

Below are the types of bras that exist and how to wear according to their build.

The Seamless Bra

The seamless bra is the most essential one in any collection. It’s simple and versatile— and it is the one you will wear most.

Structure and Style: The seamless bra has smooth, preformed round cups and is sold only with an underwire. These bras are available with a contoured style, which offers a bit more coverage, or with a plunging décolletage. A good option for women with a fuller bust is the seamless bra designed with elastane fabric on both sides of the cup. The fabric covering the inside of the cup is the same as that on the outside of the bra. The second lining will provide additional support, and together the lining and the cup ensure your nipples will never show through.

Benefits and Beauty: This bra does its job without adding any fullness to the breasts, thereby creating a more natural appearance. Thanks to cutting-edge technology, seamless bras with great fit are available up to a size K cup.

Shopping: This bra is the workhorse of every intimates collection, and you will rely on it for its versatility. When shopping for it, bring along a favorite T-shirt and blouse to make sure it fits just right.

Wearing It: Seamless bras look great where you want a very smooth look, such as under T-shirts, thinner and fitted tops and blouses, and lightly woven knits.

The Strapless Bra

Finding a strapless bra with perfect fit cannot be a hurried purchase, and in this case it pays to think ahead. Even if you don’t think you need one, you should have one. Trust me, there will come that day when you will find a need for it!

Structure and Style: A strapless bra is exactly that—a bra without straps. However, clear convertible straps may be attached for wear with intricate necklines and design details. Although bra technology has come a long way, this bra can still pose a fit challenge for women with a fuller bust. If finding the right strapless bra seems elusive, a strapless corset is a great alternative.

Benefits and Beauty: The support of a strapless bra comes from its wide bandeau, boning, strategic seaming, and underwire. Additionally, the boning in the cup shapes the breasts, while silicone strips reduce slippage.

Shopping: Look for a wide bandeau, underwire under the arms and in the center front, silicone strips along the inside, strategic seaming in the cups, and the ultimate support detail, boning in the cups. If the fit is good, but support is still a concern, purchase invisible convertible straps. In addition to the reinforcement, the straps also offer the option of wearing a variety of necklines and design details—cold shoulder, racer back, halter—while maintaining a refined look.

Wearing It: Years ago the strapless bra lived solely in the domain of after-five cocktail dresses and evening gowns. Today, plus size clothing is sexier, and much more cutting-edge, and may require a strapless bra for daytime attire as well.

The Seamed Bra

Every woman should own a seamed bra for the lift and structure it adds to the bust line. It is a must if you wear a D cup or larger.

Structure and Style: What makes a seamed bra different from a seamless bra is the strategic cup seaming, which adds more structure to the bust line. There is no preformed cup in a seamed bra. All the work of maximizing the lift and the shape of the breasts is steered by the seams at the side, center, and across the cups. Seamed bras are available with or without an underwire.

Benefits and Beauty: The seaming is what makes this bra so useful, and designers have also made this detail a part of its beauty. Seamed bras do more than enhance the lift of the breasts; they also provide great support. For women with a full bust, an underwire style takes support a step further.

Shopping: Seamed bras are offered in a mix of mesh, lace, and stretch nylon. This blending of fabrics is lovely, but the first choice, especially when you’re just beginning to build a collection or are buying a large quantity of bras at one time, is an unembellished fabric in a neutral hue.

Wearing It: Seamed bras look terrific under a suit, and they perform beautifully under heavier garments and layers.

The Convertible Bra

The convertible bra makes designs with various shoulder cuts available to all women.

Structure and Style: A convertible bra has detachable straps that may be configured to accommodate the design details of outer garments.

Benefits and Beauty: An exposed bra strap is a distraction and can ruin the look of any outfit. A convertible bra solves that problem. Convertible bras with an underwire are perfect for women with a cup size of D or larger, because it provides additional support.

Shopping: When purchasing this bra style look for the same design qualities as a strapless bra.

Wearing It: This is an option for strapless dresses, gowns, and tops for women with smaller breasts. If you frequently wear tops or dresses with revealing shoulder, back, and neckline details, such as halter, racer back, crisscross, and one-shoulder silhouettes, look for a bra with modifiable clear straps that can be either removed or adjusted.

The Sports Bra

Every woman who works out needs a sports bra for support and protection.

Structure and Style: Sports bras are designed to minimize breast movement during exercise. This item is essential for all women, particularly for those who wear a D cup or larger. Designs that have compression and encapsulation—two distinct cups—are also very important for women with a fuller bust because they lessen the bounce during exercise. Encapsulation also prevents the tearing of healthy breast tissue, which is especially important if you participate in high-impact workouts.

Benefits and Beauty: As with other bra styles, the technology behind sports bras has evolved. Some designs look like a regular bra with seaming, while others have underwire. There are styles that provide back smoothing, and those with substantial adjustable straps.

Shopping: When purchasing a sports bra, consider the vigor of the sports activity for which it will be used. When trying one on, make sure it provides maximum coverage. Your breasts should feel secure, but the straps should not dig into your shoulders. In fact, it’s a good idea to purchase styles with wide straps for extra comfort and control. Look for the latest high-tech fabrics, such as Coolmax and Supplex, as they have moisture-wicking properties that dry five times faster than sports bras made of cotton. Quick-drying fabrics eliminate under-bust chafing.

Wearing It: A sports bra looks well under the latest, high-tech workout tank tops, T-shirts, and jackets. It is not designed for daily wear.

The Minimizer Bra

Buttons make a comeback when you add the minimizer bra to your collection. With this item, you can say good-bye to bust line gap! Because women who are inverted triangles or ovals are smaller in the lower part of their bodies, they benefit from wearing this bra as it helps to visually balance their proportions.

Structure and Style: This strategically seamed bra is available in long-line and strapless styles, and in a variety of fabrics.

Benefits and Beauty: The minimizer is the bonus bra among the essentials and designed to give the appearance of a smaller bust. It does so by reducing your breasts’ projection, that is, the forward distance of your breasts from your chest wall. By shifting the breast mass toward the underarm it also changes the shape of your breasts. This is a great bra for a little reduction for those who wear a DD cup or larger. Wearing a minimizer will reduce the bust by one and a quarter inches or even more.

Shopping: Purchase a minimizer in the same size as other bras. Beware: a smaller size will not provide greater results, only a horrible fit. When shopping, bring a shirt or blouse that always gaps across the bust to try on with the bra. The difference will be apparent immediately.

Wearing It: Minimizers work especially well under button-down shirts, fitted blouses, dresses, and jackets.

Depending on how you want your girls to look, this should guide your bra shopping and how you wear your bras. This guide will help give your bust a good look and the perfect lift.

We ladies love to look good! we love the healthy black hair. as such, we do not waste time in keeping our hair clean. In doing this we love to shampoo and wash our hair clean to avoid the smelly hair. However there are quite a number of mistakes we make while washing our hair that we have come to see as right.

These mistakes are;

Using the Same Shampoo All Year Round

This means shampooing the hair too frequently. Ideally, we should shampoo every other day. It is also advisable to switch shampoos occasionally to prevent buildup of certain ingredients (like silicone).

Every couple of months, replace your current shampoo with another formulated for your hair type.

We can also use a clarifying shampoo once a month for a healthy long hair.

Not Completely Wetting the Hair Before Shampooing

Without enough water, shampoo doesn’t lather—and you may be inclined to compensate by using more product, thus hurting your wallet and hair. Stand under the shower spray for an extra minute before using your shampoo.

Always Applying Your Shampoo to the Same Spot on your Scalp

You might notice that the top of your scalp is dry or flaky. Try alternating your routine by starting your shampoo at the nape of your neck and distributing the lather onto your hair before moving toward the top of your head.

De-tangling Your Hair With Your Fingertips

To avoid damaging hair, massage your scalp with your fingertips rather than your fingernails or palms.

Rinsing With Hot Water

This is one very wrong thing to do to your hair. This has damaged the scalp of a number of women. Piping hot water dries your scalp and hair. Use lukewarm instead, this helps to preserve your hair colour.

There you have it, the certain things we have always felt we do right without knowing the damage caused to our hair. Let’s begin to do things right in order to achieve a healthy scalp.
