The existence of water could lead to financial, economic and socio-economic development of a nation.</p>

<li>Surface water: Lakes, Seas and Rivers</li>
<li>Ocean water</li>
<li>Rain water</li>
<li>Natural springs</li>
</ol>
<p>The 22nd of March has been mapped out to celebrate the essence of this gift of nature, and as the saying goes, water as an essential commodity has its importance.</p>
<p><strong>Importance of Water</strong><br />
1. Water is used for washing clothes.<br />
2. Water is used for cooking.<br />
3. Water is used for cleaning kitchen utensils such as plates, saucepans, crockery, cutlery and cooking pots.<br />
4. Water is used for washing bodies.<br />
5. Water is used for cleaning the house and communities.<br />
6. Water is used in keeping plants alive in parks and gardens.<br />
7. Water is used as part of recreation such as swimming pools.<br />
8. Water plays a key role in the generation of electricity.<br />
9. Water is a vital part of any healthy diet plan and drinking a generous amount of water daily is essential to the success of any weight loss program.<br />
10. Water is necessary for building and construction.<br />
11. Water is essential for the survive of any living thing.</p>

<p>1. Prevention of floods by cleaning all drainage systems and dispose of dirt properly.<br />
2. Preventions of drought and water pollution by not encouraging degraded vegetation, soil, rivers, and lakes.<br />
3. Latrine toilets should be quite a distance from where the kitchen is located.<br />
4. Educate everyone on the danger of drinking bad water.<br />
5. Encourage natural environments and reducing pollution.</p>
<p>The theme for World Water Day 2018 is &#8220;Nature for Water&#8221;. There is a need to encourage people to find the answer in nature, because nature-based solutions could be implemented to reduce floods, droughts, water pollution and to protect ecosystems.</p>
<p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Water_Day">Nature for Wate</a>r enables water flow back into the ecosystem for recycling. This is the installation of a rain barrel in your environment for re-using excess drinking water which could also serve as a leftover to feed the plants.</p>
<p>Stopping the act of wastewater should be part of our day to day activities, so as to enable every individual to have a positive attitude towards creating a sustainable management for our fresh water resources.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This is the season of love and there so much love in air with the St Valentine ’s Day around the corner. But there are so many misconceptions about what St Valentine ’s Day is all about.<br />
St Valentine who orchestrated the Valentine’s Day displayed the God kind of love all through his life time. He showed love to mankind, he gave to the poor, widows and orphans in the Roman empire.<br />
February 14th was set aside in his remembrance as he was killed for the sake of love on that day. The day was set aside to celebrate the love St Valentine died for, which is the reason Valentine’s Day is celebrated yearly.</p>
<p>However there have been series of misconception about how this day is meant to be celebrated which have been highlighted below.<br />
Below are some misconceptions about Valentine’s Day:</p>
<h4><strong>Hoping to Get Laid</strong></h4>
<p>Valentine’s day has been tagged as a day of free sexual escapade especially for the unmarried, so many ladies have been swayed away with the idea of sex being an evidence of love while in reality this is not totally true. Do not get me wrong, I do not mean ladies only have sex on Valentine’s day, but the naïve ones mostly falls for this ideology after been showered with gifts and sweet words. After the February 14th fever there are series of abortion while a lot of young ladies become single mother all because of the Valentine’s day fever.</p>
<h4><strong>Valentine’s Day Must be Celebrated with a Guy</strong></h4>
<p>Valentine’s day is a day to show love to everyone including yourself. Single ladies, you do not need a guy to make you feel good about yourself, give yourself a nice treat and shower yourself with gifts. Your life does not revolve around a guy. Start by loving yourself and I assure you won’t regret it.</p>
<h4><strong>Gifts to Loved Ones Must Only Be on Valentine’s Day</strong></h4>
<p>This is another fallacy. You shouldn’t wait for Valentine’s day before you show love to your loved ones, I mean “If you really love someone, then everyday must be your valentine day”. You do not have to wait for the valentine fever to set in before you show love.</p>
<h4><strong>It Must Be an Expensive Gift</strong></h4>
<p>You don’t have to break your purse or break into the bank before you show love to your loved one by buying the most expensive gifts. The thought you put into picking out the gift is what matter most and not how expensive the gift is, except your spouse is materialistic.</p>
<h4><strong>Valentine Day is all About the Girl</strong></h4>
<p>This is a selfish mentality on the part of the ladies in this part of the world. So many ladies believe they are entitled to all the gifts for Valentine’s Day. In fact, some ladies don’t give their spouse anything; showing up empty handed and expecting to receive the whole world from their boyfriends or husband.</p>
<h4><strong>Getting the Engagement Ring</strong></h4>
<p>I call this a lame misconception if your spouse is going to put a ring on the finger, valentine’s day should not be a prompter for him to pop the question. Valentine’s Day sure comes with a lot of craze and you wouldn’t want to be caught up in the rat race of Valentine’s Day.</p>
<p>Valentine’s day comes with a whole lot of emotions both genuine and non-genuine, so I will advise you show love just because you have the capacity to show love. During this season show love to the needy and live the true legacy of St Valentine; if you honestly want to celebrate his legacy.</p>

<h4><strong>Protein:</strong></h4>
<p>Organic, pasture-raised and grass-fed meat is best to feed on while on the ketogenic diet; eating them moderately is allowed since they do not have sugar embedded in them. It is also important to note that too much protein on a low carb diet is not a good thing as it can stall your progress on the weight loss part. Examples of foods high in protein are Bacon, Pork Chops, Chicken, Ground beef, Liver, Almond butter etc. It is important to note that protein should be eaten in moderation.</p>
<h4><strong>Fats and Oils:</strong></h4>
<p>Fats are important to our bodies during a ketogenic diet but they can be dangerous if you do not feed on healthy types of fats. Examples of fats and oils to be are Butter, Coconut oil, Lard, Olive oil, Macadamia nut oils, Tallow (i.e. Animal fats), Palm oil etc.</p>
<h4><strong>Vegetables and Fruits:</strong></h4>
<p>Vegetables are also an important part of the ketogenic diet. Some vegetables and fruits are high in carbohydrate so it is better to cut them off your meal especially as a beginner on the ketogenic diet. Examples of vegetables which are advised to be eaten on this diet are Spinach, Kale, Cabbage, Okro, Cauliflower, Berries, Lemon, Lime, etc.</p>
<p>Vegetables grown underground are to be eaten in moderation; you should be careful about the quantity of carbs in them (such as Onions). For beginners, it is advisable you eat spring onions instead of normal onions you see around.</p>
<h4><strong>Water and Beverages:</strong></h4>
<p>No human can exist on earth for a long period of time without drinking water. While on a ketogenic diet one can become so dehydrated most especially for beginners which is why it is recommended to drink at least 8 glasses of water in a day. Alcohol and Soda drinks are to be avoided on this diet because they are high in carbohydrate. Examples of Beverages allowed on this diet are Coffee, Tea, Coconut /Almond Milk, and Broth, etc.</p>

Ranging from a low-fat <a href="https://hermaze.com/3-reasons-why-your-last-diet-plan-did-not-work-out/">diet</a> to a popular brand of body detox which made me sick and gain weight drastically. 2 months ago, a friend of mine spoke to me about the Ketogenic diet plan. As soon as I heard this I became skeptical about this new program but decided to give it a trial after making my findings. Presently, I am 3 weeks into the program and I have seen remarkable changes. As a result of this, I have had to visit the tailor for the amendment of a few clothings.</p>
<p>This common saying “you can’t eat your cake and have it”  implies you can not have the best of both worlds- sacrifices must be made to achieve set goals. This invariably mean that you discipline yourself and abide by set rules in order to see that desired change in your body size and health.</p>
<p>In discussing this new path towards healthy living, I will give a brief introduction into all about Ketogenic and how it works.</p>
<h4><strong>What is Ketogenic:</strong></h4>
<p>Ketogenic is a low carb diet which is structured to put your body in a state of <a href="http://www.webmd.com/diabetes/type-1-diabetes-guide/what-is-ketosis#1">ketosis</a>, Ketogenic uses fat as its primary body source of fuel (Energy), this occurs because glucose a product of carbohydrate which gives you energy is cut from your meal plan and replaced with fat.</p>
<h4><strong>How does Keto work:</strong></h4>
<p>For you to achieve your set goals in Ketogenic you must follow this strict ratio of your diet, the Ketogenic diet is 75% of fat, 20% of protein and 5% of carbohydrate.</p>

<p>Fat eaten is circulated as <a href="http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/in-depth/triglycerides/art-20048186">triglycerides</a> in the blood stream and stored as adipose tissue i.e. body fat which is used as energy to keep your body going. Remember low carbohydrate diet is equal to low energy hence I would advise you eat more fat for you to have energy while going about your day to day activities.</p>
<p>I have read comments on ketogenic having the risk of high cholesterol which will result into <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-density_lipoprotein">low-density lipoproteins:</a>  this is caused by eating of fatty foods that are high in sugar (bad fat)  but with research, I have been made to understand that high-fat diet requires eating of healthy fat, vegetables, fruits, fish etc. Eating of fatty foods which are high in sugar causes ketoacidosis.</p>

<p>Visible pant line popularly called <em>VPL</em> can ruin a beautiful day but they can be avoided by wearing the right and perfect set of underpants.</p>
<p>I will never forget the most embarrassing day of my life, I was all dressed up for a red-carpet event in my beautiful black bodycon dress by Dolce &amp; Gabbana. Immediately I stepped down from my car I saw Wale my endless crush and I noticed his eyes were fixed on me. As I walked slowly down the red carpet I met with my friends and we decided to take selfies yet his eyes were still on me.</p>
<p>He walked slowly towards me, still staring at me I thought to myself he has finally found the guts to ask me out, but to my greatest surprise the words that came out of his mouth stroke me I felt like going into the ground.</p>
<p>&#8220;<em>Did he just tell me my panty lines are showing through my dress?&#8221; </em></p>
<p>Now, to avoid embarrassing situations like this, Below are tips on how to prevent <em>VPL</em> from ruining your day.</p>
<h4><strong>Consider Wearing the Right Panties</strong></h4>
<p>Wearing the right and perfect size of panties can help save you from the embarrassment of visible pant line. While shopping for your panties make sure they are not too tight to avoid your pants digging into your skin which will make you feel uncomfortable at the same time also make sure they are not too loose hence it folds up causing wrinkles and bumps on your clothing’s.</p>
<h4><strong>Wearing of Thongs/G-Strings</strong></h4>
<p>Thongs are the perfect choice of panties when dealing with visible pant lines while they may not be so comfortable to wear they are a good option to go for most especially when wearing spandex and lycra fabrics. G-strings have fewer fabrics than thongs so you might want to consider having G-strings as a must have panties.</p>
<h4><strong>Consider Boy Shorts/ Wearing of Seamless Pants</strong></h4>
<p>Boy shorts are set of panties which give full coverage whenever they are worn. This is because they do not cut across your butt and wearing of boy shorts gives a seamless look. Most seamless panties come in elastic and spandex, while shopping make sure you buy a boy shorts that fit your butt comfortably to avoid making it obvious from the outer part of your clothes.</p>
<h4><strong>Be Brave</strong></h4>
<p>Being brave means not wearing underwear or panties, this is the only way to be assured that no visible pant line or what so ever will spoil your perfect day. It is good when wearing a pair of trousers but when on skirts and dresses make sure you wear undergarments and if you are not comfortable doing this you can order a disposable cotton patch. While going bravely make sure you wash your a pair of trousers to avoid bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections.</p>
<h4><strong>Try Under Garments</strong></h4>
<p>Wearing of under garments is another means of tackling Visible pant line. Under garments comes in different variants like Shapewears, tights, a slip (under skirt). These under garments give you a smooth look and help cover all wrinkles that seem to appear on your clothing’s. Most undergarments are of lycra fabrics which help shape your butt and prevents outfits from bunching.</p>
<h4><strong>Avoid Skin Clinging Clothes</strong></h4>
<p>Clinging clothes are extremely tight clothing’s, which will always hug your body and reveal your pant lines, when wearing a clinging garment, I will advise you bear it all (Go commando) and not wear any panties better still you wear an under garments to make your butt a little firm to avoid butt movement.</p>
<h4><strong>Wear Thicker Fabrics /Avoid Steer Clear Clothing</strong></h4>
<p>The type of fabrics you wear goes a long way in determining if you would have to tackle visible pant line all day long, try avoid steer clear clothing’s and embrace thicker fabrics. Wearing of thick fabrics you wouldn’t have to worry about visible pant lines all day long. Examples of thick fabrics are tweed over fabrics like jersey, silk, and denim, it is important to note that not all denim is equal make sure you go for the thicker once.</p>
<p>Finally, Print materials are good at disguising visible pant lines because of the fabric which is busy in nature which will cover any wrinkle or lines.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>For a country with over 250 ethnic groups, it is rather impossible to avoid inter-tribal <a href="https://hermaze.com/consistency-in-marriage/">marriage</a>. This kind of weddings usually come with lots of diversities, especially in the aspect of food, music and their colourful traditional attires. It is such a lovely sight to behold as each group does justice to representing their culture.</p>
<p>Many years ago it was almost impossible for inter tribal marriages to take place, the tug of war that parents engage in before consenting to either of their children getting married to someone from a different tribe was disturbing.</p>
<p>I know a couple who dated for 8 years with the intention of getting married but this wish never saw day light because of their ethic differences. It hurts so bad that it took them a while before they could let go of each other.</p>
<p>However some people have been lucky enough to be able cross the huddles of inter-ethnic differences before marriage but have no idea of what awaits them in marriage. Issues rise from not speaking same language, different choice of favourite meals, children upbringing, situational perception etc. This is statements like “<em>this is how it is done in my place”</em> comes up.</p>
<p>Getting married to your spouse means you are starting a new life and a new family, so be free to imbibe new things and accommodate new ideas. If you are about to walk this path , here are some tips to help you journey through.</p>
<h4><strong>Be On Your “A” Game</strong></h4>
<p>Have you ever heard the saying ‘<em>First impression lasts long”?</em> It is important you put on your “A” game when meeting your intending in-laws, being your best is necessary. Do not get me wrong, I am not asking you to go break your purse in a bit to try look good/create an impression.</p>
<p>You are required to be of best behavior, neatly dressed and above all be yourself. You would not want your first meeting with them to leave a bad impression of who you are. This is the time to show them you are ready to be a part of their family and culture<strong>.</strong></p>
<h4><strong>Avoid Being Stereotyped</strong></h4>
<p>I advise you neglect stereotyped thoughts, either Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa etc, every culture has its uniqueness. Be open- minded to learn new things : a new thought, perception, idea or even lifestyle.</p>
<p>For example the method the Igbo’s cook their fufu (starch) is not applicable to the Yoruba’s.  This will save you from the stress of having things done your own way and facing the rejection of your In-laws later. Remember there is beauty in learning new things.</p>
<h4><strong>Highlight Your Cultural Values To Your Spouse</strong></h4>
<p>As a Yoruba lady, kneeling while greeting elders is part of our culture. In other tribes however their simple courtesy is to bow for elders.</p>
<p>Before introducing your spouse to your parents highlight your cultural values most especially the ones your family hold in high esteem so as to enable him or her find feel a little more welcoming in your family.</p>
<h4><strong>Bridge The Language Barrier</strong></h4>
<p>It is so annoying when seated in the midst of nonspeaking language people and you do not understand what they are talking about. So as not to let your spouse be left out of any discussion, explaining to her or replying back in English would save him/her a lot of stress and prevent confusion/misunderstanding.</p>
<h4><strong>Patience is a Virtue</strong></h4>
<p>In this part of the world, when you get married, you are getting married to your spouse’s family. There are times the family will get on your nerves, but patience is required so as not to cause a rift between your spouse and his/her family members. Do not unleash your frustrations on your spouse when there is a misunderstanding.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is every ladies dream to have a blissful marriage. Your mother-in-law can be a sole factor to achieving this. To an extent, they influence the success of a marriage, especially in an African setting where marrying a man means marrying his whole family.</p>
<p>Susan almost lost her mind when she answered the door bell to her apartment, seeing her mother-in-law at the door post with her luggage. Mama, this time around, came with Nkiru a far distance relative. Mama just left Susan’s home 2 weeks ago after staying for a month. Susan in her shocked state flashed a smile welcoming her mother-in-law and Nkiru with a warm reception.</p>
<p>“<em>Obi, did mama tell you she will be coming to Lagos</em>” Susan asked her husband over the phone. Apparently mama decided to stop by without prior notice again, her last stay was a living hell for Susan, Mama complains about everything <em>“Too much salt in the food, too much Maggi, too much pepper, why are you wasting my son&#8217;s money buying gas can’t you cook with fire wood”</em> who does that in the city, cook with fire wood!</p>
<p>Susan had made up her mind to opt out of her 18 months marriage, if her husband continues to keep mute concerning his mother`s monstrous attitude.</p>
<p>So many marriages have ended within a short period of exchanging marital vows due to the mother-in-laws inability to limit their interference in the children’s marriage. This has made their daughter in-laws see them as a &#8220;<em>monster-in-law&#8221;</em> instead of a mother-in law.</p>
<p>Below are steps on how to deal with a &#8220;<em>monster- in -law&#8221;</em> in the name of a mother-in-law.</p>
<h4><strong>Tell Your Spouse to Set Boundaries</strong></h4>
<p>Setting boundaries in relationships are very important. Both parents should have their bounds and not wholly interfere in the affairs of their married children except it is highly essential/ their attention is needed.</p>
<p>Sometimes an unscheduled visits by parents/relatives of either spouses may be allowed. However, it is important to set the boundaries to prevent this from being an everyday occurrence.</p>
<h4><strong>Good Cop and Bad Cop</strong></h4>
<p>The perception you create about your spouse determines how your family/relatives will perceive him/her. Never talk down about your spouse whether to your mother or siblings. It indirectly creates an impression and affects the relationship between them. Irrespective of the character, attitude, issues and differences you may be going through, portray your spouse in a good way, it ensure they get along very well. However, there are cases where the family intervention will be needed, you would need to apply discretion and deal with this in a matured way.<strong> </strong></p>
<h4><strong>Appreciate Their Advice Whether You Heed To It or Not</strong></h4>
<p>When your mother-in-law offers unsolicited advice either you are interested or not, Ensure you listen attentively, acknowledge that she&#8217;s your mother-in-law and thus she is well experienced. Do not in anyway show that you are the tiniest bit disinterested in whatever she says. After the conversation, thank her, let her know that you would make sure to apply the pieces of advice. As a matured married lady who wants to sustain her home, you should be able to sieve through messages, select those which is best applicable and will work for your home then discard the rest. If you go the route of challenging your mother-in-law and showing that you care less about what she says you would be on a journey of creating a rift between you both.</p>
<h4><strong>Avoid Escalating Conflict</strong></h4>
<p>Visualize scenarios which gets you irritated when your in laws are around come up with a solution before having physical contact with them. In all you do, try avoid those scenarios so as to prevent conflict. Whenever conflicts arise try talk it out with your mother-in-law and respond honestly. Avoid being rude, be firm and polite.</p>
<h4><strong>Get Friendly</strong></h4>
<p>This comes up when you are left alone with your in law in the house, once you feel the atmosphere is becoming awkward try come up with chit chats, gists and warm up to your in-laws, this will make her know you both can have a cordial relationship.</p>
<h4><strong>Recognize Progress When You See It</strong></h4>
<p>No one is perfect, always remember your mother-in-law is a human with faults. It is at times difficult for a parent to bond with her new son-or daughter-in-law. They sometime see as if they are being replaced. As soon as you notice progress in your relationship with your mother –in-law make sure you embrace it.</p>
<h4><strong>Try Understand Common Problems Between You And Your Mother-In-Law</strong></h4>
